"ME" presents photographs by Julia Gröning and videos by Anna Witt. Both artists mostly work with their own body:
while Julia Gröning is showing parts of her body in each picture, by hiding most of it, Anna Witt uses the body as
media and projection field for a communication in public spaces.

The photographic work by Julia Gröning is all about self-perfomances although she never poses in the traditional way
as a model. In her mysterious pictures only fragments of her body are discoverable, like her hand or her leg which are the
only parts of the body that can be seen. These scenic settings are able to transfer possible stories which are not reported
by the artist but only suggested - to be completed by the recipient himself.

The video works of Anna Witt mostly are based on a performative intervention in public space. e.g. Her video 'PUSH'
fakes the classical gesture of a detention scene on the streets of Venice Beach, L.A. - as we all are familiar with through
US-TV series productions. 'Kontakte (Contacts)' transfers the act of being patted down by the airport staff to the
common place of a railway station. She carries out the body check herself. By switching from official authorities to a
civilian she removes the subtle aspects of sensualtity and assault.
